The requests for amendments before registration must be applied for on form
TM2, unless it is otherwise specified in the regulations, and a fee of
R19.00 each trade mark must be paid on or before the application date.
(For example, a substitution of application has to be requested on a form TM6 and
a fee of R150.00 for the first trade mark and R26.00
for each additional trade mark is payable)

Trade Mark Amendments
NB: If you
wish to amend the trade mark, make sure you are not changing it to the
extent that it would alter its identity. The Registrar may allow any such
amendments of the mark as he/she may think fit as long the identity of the mark
as originally lodged is not changed substantially by way of the requested amendment..

Goods/services to be amended

Change of address for service - Form TM2 to be accompanied by a vopy
of a Power Attorney or a GPA or the number of an existing GPA

Change of physical address of the applicant

Change of name of the applicant - The form TM2 to be accompanied by a copy of
the Certificate of change of name from the Registrar of Companies where
applicable.

Correction of clerical error

Dissolution of Association
- Request for endorsement by the application - TM2 and fee of
R26.00
for each trade mark.
- Certified Copies of a trade marks - a fee of R34.00 per trade
mark.
- Association between trade marks - a fee of R5.00 per association.
Details on how to complete in the TM2 for an amendment, you will find in
the TM2 sample.
When your trade mark application is accepted subject to certain conditions, the
Registrar may request you to amend the trade mark in a certain way – see
the field of the
TM2 sample named "Reasons (if any)". If that is the case, you have to
write in this field "By request of the Registrar"
