Search Option 1 - Use this
search option if you know the exact name of
the enterprise you are looking for.
Search Option 2
- Use this search option if you know the number
(new or old) of the enterprise you are looking
for.
Search Option 3
- Use this search option if you are not sure
of the exact name of the enterprise you are
looking for. i.e. You may know that the name
of the enterprise you are looking for contains
the word Computers but you
are not sure of the entire enterprise name.
Search Option 1
Please note: - This search looks for exact
matches. i.e. Only enterprises with names that exactly match the provided search criterion
will be returned. Only the database of registered enterprises is searched.
Search Option 2
Please note:
- This search looks for enterprise numbers.
i.e. Only the enterprise with a number that
exactly matches the provided search criterion
will be returned. Only the database of registered
enterprises is searched. Old or new enterprise
numbers can be used for the search but must
be provided without the slashes
(/). Old
enterprise numbers
will only work for enterprises registered before
2000.
If the enterprise number has been changed (in
accordance with
Government Gazette
notice 1762 of 1999)
the old (pre-Y2K number) number can still be
used for the search and the search will return
the correct Y2K number.
Search Option 3
Please note: - This search will look for
enterprise names that contain the provided search criterion. i.e. A search for Computer
will return, amongst others, enterprises that have names like Business Computers,
Computer Cats, Computers for Africa, etc. Supplying more
than one word for the search criterion will cause the search engine to perform an OR
search, while enclosing a multi-word criterion with inverted comas will cause the search
engine to perform an AND search.
A search for Cheese King would cause the
search engine to return all enterprise names that contain the word Cheese
or that contain the word King.
A search for "Cheese King" would
cause the search engine to return all enterprise names that contain both words, Cheese
and King.
Both the registered enterprise and the reserved name
databases are searched.
